So what's all the hype around plant based foods? While we love all things health related, CBD is our expertise, so we asked food blogger, recipe developer and health lover Annie Tucker to tell us why our bodies love plant based foods.
- Plant based eating has proved to aid in a healthier gut, lower your blood pressure, protect against diabetes, disease and illness, and keep your mental health in tact.
- It’s crazy good for your skin. Processed foods, dairy, and animal products love to leave their mark on our body in the form of pimples or acne on our face. This is because those types of clog our gut and show up on our skin.
- Plants are full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. I’ve recently been on a fiber kick always seeing how much more fiber I can add to my diet. Fiber keeps you full and your gut healthy, vegetables and plant based foods are often full of fiber, meaning they keep you full and your body happy!
One of her favorite plant based salads is her Shaved Cauliflower Salad. Zero lettuce in sight but veggie packed and filling, too! Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable making it full of fiber and naturally high in vitamins. One head of cauliflower also contains 11 grams of protein.
