What is CBD

Before we can talk about the benefits of CBD, we have to talk about the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS is a vast network of receptors that supports the regulation of a number of biological functions. These functions include anti-inflammatory response, the immune system, appetite, mood, anxiety, sleep schedule and more. CBD and other cannabinoids improve the function of ECS receptors, helping the body keep all of these biological rhythms in balance even when external factors and lifestyle choices (think working hard and playing harder) diminish our wellbeing. The benefits of CBD are all rooted in and fortify these systems to make sure that they are operating optimally and providing us relief from exercise-induced inflammation; a stronger immune system, support for healthy sleep cycles, and relief from everyday stresses. Ultimately, taking CBD products is an extension of a plant-based way to support your overall health and well-being.

There are two key ways to tell if CBD products are legit. Before you buy CBD oil, first look at the ingredients and confirm that it includes cannabidiol or hemp extract. Products that include other hemp or cannabis matter without cannabidiol or hemp extract specifically may not actually contain CBD. Second, look for CBD products that provide a certificate of analysis, or COA, from a third-party testing laboratory. Using the COA you can confirm that the ingredients and quantities are what the product labels claims, as well as know if any contaminants are present and at what levels.

CBD oil extract, or CBD tinctures, are often integrated into a holistic health routine to support both cellular and general wellness. It is found that most people do not produce enough endocannabinoids to optimally support their Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Enter CBD: CBD is used to boost the ECS so that it can better regulate biological functions contributing to your overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. You can use CBD products in many forms including CBD tinctures, CBD gummies and CBD topicals, depending on your needs and preferences.

CBD oil can be used in many ways. A few common CBD oil applications include ingesting it by placing a CBD oil drops under your tongue, ingesting a gummy, inhaling it using a CBD vape pen and applying it topically, by rubbing it into your skin. Each different method delivers CBD to your body in a unique way, so it’s important to consider your individual health goals and wellness routine when deciding what CBD products will work best for you.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is just one of many cannabinoids that can be extracted from hemp. Pure CBD, also known as CBD Isolate, is the purest form of cannabidiol. You get pure CBD when all the other cannabinoids and plant matter present in the hemp are removed during the extraction process. One of the benefits of pure CBD extract is that it’s easier to accurately measure the amount of CBD separate from other cannabinoids.

Simply put, pure CBD oil is made by extracting cannabinoids from cannabis plants including hemp. So what is hemp extraction? CBD can be extracted from hemp mechanically or using solvents. Mechanical methods include everything from hand-pressing, the way our ancestors did to modern distillation techniques, that apply changes in temperature or pressure to separate the cannabinoid oils from other plant matter. Solvents on the other hand, dissolve the cannabinoids present in hemp and are then evaporated leaving pure CBD oil behind. Many products employ a combination of both extraction methods to perfect the finished product. Wild by Nature CBD comes from hemp grown on American farms, that use the highest standards of cultivation. Our raw ingredients are sourced from facilities that use the most advanced hemp extraction methods to produce full spectrum CBD oil and isolate hemp-derived CBD.

For starters, when we talk hemp, we’re talking about cannabis plants with less than 0.3% THC. Hemp, like other cannabis plants, contain cannabinoids. In fact, there are more than 113 different identified cannabinoids; cannabidiol (CBD) and THC are just two of these 113. As a source of pure hemp-derived CBD, the hemp plant is used for growing and extracting the CBD you find in our Wild by Nature CBD tinctures and CBD gummies

At Wild by Nature we go to great lengths to deliver you the highest quality product and we don’t expect you to just take our word for it. Everyone one of our CBD products has a track and trace batch number, so you can know what we know. The analysis for Wild by Nature lab results is done by a neutral third party and includes product details like the breakdown of cannabinoid profile and pass or fail results on a variety of quality tests that look for pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, residual solvents, and more.

The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp, by definition containing less than 0.3% THC, legal. The Farm Bill legalized hemp at the federal level by removing it and products derived from it, from the federal list of controlled substances and classifying it as an agricultural commodity. But always check with your local regulations.

Here at Wild we use natural ingredients which can cause the pigments to change from batch to batch.

The cannabis plant contains hundreds of different phytonutrients including cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds. Full and broad-spectrum hemp-derived CBD generally refers to products that not only contain CBD, but contain the other beneficial phytonutrients as well. This version of CBD oil is minimally refined, leaving most of the cannabinoids and terpenes intact and in the oil. Full spectrum usually includes trace amounts of THC
On the other hand, CBD isolate products are generally labeled as being 99% or more pure CBD depending on the form. As the name suggests, these products have been isolated down to just the CBD molecule. They have no other active ingredient and just aim to deliver CBD, isolated from the other cannabinoids and terpenes.

Adaptogens are active ingredients in certain plants that may impact how your body deals with stress, anxiety and fatigue. Plants and mushrooms provide adaptogenic actions. When consumed, these plants target specific stressors in your body.
There are three qualities that plants must have to be an adaptogen:

  • It is non-toxic when taken in normal doses.
  • It helps your body cope with stress.
  • It allows your body to return to balance (homeostasis).

Adaptogens work as a temporary bandage but aren’t the solution to long-term stress.

The goal of taking adaptogens is to return your body back to a state of balance (homeostasis). The herbal action in adaptogens increases or decreases chemical reactions within your body.
For example, if you’re stressed (elevated cortisol), an adaptogen will respond by reducing cortisol levels. If you experience chronic fatigue with low cortisol levels, an adaptogen will increase the level of cortisol in your body.

While some adaptogens like ashwagandha and Asian ginseng have a number of studies on their varied actions, supplements are not regulated by FDA, and FDA approval does not equate to safety.
If you plan to add plants with adaptogenic qualities to your diet, talk with your healthcare provider to discuss how they could impact your health and if they are right for you.

What is Delta 9 THC?
Most people generically refer ‘THC’ which stands for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. Within the cannabis plant, there are more than 500 substances and 100 different cannabinoid molecules, and THC is just one of them. And because marijuana and hemp are both part of the cannabis family tree, THC can be derived from either source. This is important to note because all Wild by Nature THC or Delta 9 products are derived from hemp and considered federally compliant. Most full spectrum products that are <0.3% THC are compliant under the hemp derived CBD. We believe its legal as it’s derived from hemp in concentrations of less than 0.3% by dry weight. In 2018 Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill, which removed hemp as a federally controlled substance. It also says that any hemp and hemp-derived products that contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight are considered federally legal in the United States. By this definition, all our Full spectrum THC products are federally compliant under the standards set by the 2018 Farm Bill.
